Our approach
Wally is a Chrome shopping assistant. We designed it to make price comparisons useful without selling browsing profiles or using them for targeted advertising.
Information the extension stores on your device
When you have shopping activity enabled, Wally may read product information visible on shopping pages you visit, such as the product title, displayed price, merchant, product URL, and inferred categories or brands. It may also record your interactions with visible wishlist, save, and add-to-cart controls.
These shopping signals, your Wally preferences, and recommended deals are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. You can pause shopping activity or clear this locally stored data at any time from Wally's Settings page.
Price checks and our service providers
Wally sends the product title and, when available, the displayed price to wally.ai only after you select Wally's price-check control on Amazon. Our service uses that information to request matching shopping results from SerpAPI's Google Shopping service and returns possible lower-priced offers to your browser.
To operate and improve the price-check service, wally.ai records the search query, source price, number of results, number of lower-priced results, and timestamp. We do not send your locally stored shopping profile, wishlist, or browsing history with a price-check request.
If you create an account on wally.ai, our authentication provider processes the account information needed to provide that account. A price-check may be associated with that account for service operation and security.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
Wally may earn a commission when you use a clearly disclosed partner link and make a qualifying purchase. When that functionality is available, the partner link and the destination merchant may process click and purchase information under their own privacy policies and may use cookies or similar technologies for attribution. Wally does not add affiliate tracking to a link unless you choose a result marked as a partner link.
Wally does not control third-party stores, search services, or their privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting information or completing a purchase.
How we use information
- Provide local deal recommendations and the price-check feature you request.
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Wally.
- Measure whether price checks return useful results in aggregate.
- Meet legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse.
We do not sell your personal information or use your local shopping profile for cross-site behavioral advertising.
Retention and your choices
Local extension data remains on your device until you clear it or remove the extension. Service records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, security, and legal obligations. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold by contacting us below.
